How to Perform Umrah Hajj

There are 4 customs to perform Umrah:

1. Putting on Ihram.
2. Performing Tawaf.
3. Performing Sa’ee.
4. Ending Ihram

Performing Ihram

First of all, the worshiper has to set Niyat for Umrah and recites Talbiya before Meqat.

The Right Process of Wearing Ihram

1. Take a bath for Ihram. > 2. Put on Ihram. > 3. Pray for 2 Rakats of Nafal Salah covering your head. > 4. Say Niyyah (Uncovering head). > 5. Recite Talbiyah and go for Tawaf.

What Not to Do Wearing Ihram

1. Don’t use perfume (even using soap or shampoo in the shower).
2. Don’t wear niqabs or hand gloves (for women), nor caps (for men).
3. Don’t wear stitched clothes (for men).
4. Don’t trim nails.
5. Cutt no hair from any part of the body.
6. Don’t get married.
7. Don’t engage in sexual activities.
8. Don’t haunt any living being (unless it is a threat to you)
9. Don’t cut down trees.
10. Don’t smoke or take any kind of drugs.
11. Don’t quarrel or fight.

Performing Tawaf

Move seven times around Kaaba with respect and devotion. Stop reciting Talbiyah, while performing Tawaf. After performing Tawaf, start at the Black Stone. Kiss it if you can. Touch the stone with your right hand if you cannot kiss. If you cannot even touch it, face it and point it with your right hand.

Perform Sa’ee

Run or walk 7 seven rounds between the hills of Safah and Marwah. The 7 round move is the completion of Sa’ee.

Ending Ihram, The Final Ritual of Umrah

The final step of performing Umrah is the “Ending Ihram”. Men trim or shave the hair of the head and change the Ihram and wear clothes to complete the rituals of Umrah. Women trim the hair of the head with a fingertip and change the Ihram and wear normal clothes to complete the Umrah rituals. The rules of Ihram are lifted after completing Umrah rituals. This is the ultimate end of the state of Ihram.
